Desert Sea
“Mar Deserto”
1
Every time I see the sea, [it] reminds me of the desert
Sun and sand and sea and sun so bright that it makes my eyes hurt
Every time I see the sea, [it] reminds me of the desert
Grains of salt suspended over sand, grains of sand that hold the ocean
When I sit alone to contemplate the sea
How to navigate the ocean
And how to cross the sand in constant motion
Here I learn to navigate me
2
It would be as easy to die of thirst in the sea just like in the desert
You could fall right under the spell of being lost but thinking
you will reach your destination
It’s as easy to die of thirst in the sea just like in the desert
You could fall right under the spell
The sea
The sea
Oases, the sea
Oases, the sea
Islands, oases, the sea
Islands, oases, the sea
Islands are oases, the sea
Islands are oases of desert sea
Islands are oases of desert sea
Islands are oases of desert sea
Islands are oases of desert sea
